REVIEW: Comic Con Liverpool 2020

Liverpool Comic Con has just happened and for the 3rd year running we had the honour of covering this event with each year getting bigger but was this year’s event possibly the best yet?

Going into this year’s event the whole city was buzzing hence Weekend & Saturday selling out in a matter of days when tickets went on sale. Before we get to what happened, a special shout out to all the cosplayers they was many more cosplayers than previous years every single one absolutely AMAZING! Even our very own Dan Spelman and Emma Nolan got involved as Peter B. Parker and Poison Ivy respectively. They was multiple Cosplay guests that stopped for pictures and pass on creative ideas and advice to con goers whom was cosplaying.

They was so many cool cosplays including Joker & Harley Quinn’s To Captain Jack Sparrow, Thor , Jedi’s, Batman’s, Deadpool’s, Ghost Rider, Game Of Thrones, Harry Potter, Spyro plus many more here are a few pictures Dan & Emma grabbed whilst at the event…

 

 

Now to the guests possibly the biggest most definitely the best line up of guests at this convention so far and thats saying something! Monopoly Events they knocked it out the park having a huge guest line up including Chris Klein, Thomas Ian Nicholas, Shannon Elizabeth, Chris Owen all from the American Pie franchise (sadly Tara Reid couldn’t make it last minute due unforeseen circumstances) However the guest list was ENDLESS just take a look.

Elliah Wood – (Lord of the Rings Trilogy) is an American actor, voice actor, film producer, and DJ best known for his portrayal of Frodo Baggins in the Lord of the Rings film trilogy and in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. David Harbour – (Stranger Things) is an American actor best known for his role as Jim Hopper in the Netflix series Stranger Things, which earned him a Critics’ Choice Television Award in 2018. (Stranger Things, Hellboy, Black Widow, Suicide Squad, The Green Hornet, Brokeback Mountain, Quantum of Solace)

 Ryan Hurst – (Sons of Anarchy) is an American actor best known for his roles as Gerry Bertier in Disney’s Remember the Titans, Sgt. Ernie Savage in We Were Soldiers, Tom Clarke in Taken, Opie Winston in the FX drama series Sons of Anarchy, Chick in Bates Motel, Li’l “Foster” Farrell in Outsiders, Beta in The Walking Dead, and Hector Bonner in Bosch.

Steve Guttenberg – (Police Academy) is an American actor, author, businessman, producer, and director. He is known for his lead roles in Hollywood films of the 1980s and 1990s, including Cocoon, Police Academy, Three Men and a Baby, Diner, The Bedroom Window, Three Men and a Little Lady, The Big Green and Short Circuit.

 Bob Gale – (Back to the Future Trilogy) is an American screenwriter, producer and film director. He co-wrote Back to the Future with writing partner Robert Zemeckis, and the screenplays for the film’s two sequels. Gale also co-produced all three films and served as associate producer on the subsequent animated TV series. Michael J. Fox noted that Back to the Future co-creator Bob Gale is “the gatekeeper” for the franchise. 

  Melissa Joan Hart –  (UK Exclusive)  – (Sabrina the Teenage Witch) is an American actress, producer, and director known for her starring roles as the titular characters in the sitcoms Clarissa Explains It All, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, and Melissa & Joey. (Sabrina The Teenage Witch, Clarissa Explains It All, Melissa & Joey, Nine Dead, Batman Beyond, Not Another Teen Movie)

 Jenna Leigh Green – (UK Exclusive)  – (Sabrina the Teenage Witch) is an American actress and singer best known for her performances as Libby Chessler on the television show Sabrina the Teenage Witch, as well as for roles on tour in the musical Wicked and later in the Broadway production.

 Beth Broderick –   (UK Exclusive)  – (Sabrina the Teenage Witch) is an American actress. Who is best known for her role as Sabrina’s Aunt – Zelda Spellman – Sabrina the Teenage Witch. She also had recurring roles as Diane Janssen in the ABC mystery drama series Lost (2005–2008)

 Lori Petty – (UK Exclusive) – (Tank Girl) is an American actress and director. Her roles include playing Tyler Endicott in Point Break, Kit Keller in A League of Their Own, Rae Lindley in Free Willy and the title role in Tank Girl. (Tank Girl, A League Of Their Own, Orange Is The New Black, Prison Break, Point Break, Free Willy, The Poker House, Gotham)

 Sam J Jones – (Flash Gordon) is known professionally as Sam J. Jones, is an American actor best known for playing the title characters in Flash Gordon and The Highwayman. (Flash Gordon, The Highwayman, Ted, Ted 2, Hollywood Safari, Stargate SG-1, L.A. Heat)

  
Brian Blessed – (Flash Gordon) OBE is an English actor, writer, television presenter and singer, known for his booming, voice and his role as Prince Vultan in Flash Gordon. (Flash Gordon, Black Adder, Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, Tarzan, Robin Hood Prince of Thieves, Peppa Pig, Wizards vs Aliens)

   
Melody Anderson – (Flash Gordon) is a Canadian social worker and public speaker specializing in the impact of addiction on families. She is a retired actress, whose most high-profile role was playing Dale Arden in the 1980 adaptation of Flash Gordon. (Flash Gordon, Battlestar Galactica, Manimal, Beverly Hills Madam, The A-Team)

And of course they was loads of fun stuff such a Green Arrowed theme archery game, VR games, a whole floor as a video game arena, that looked so much FUN! Its the whole thing the team never got round to due to it being so busy!

They was the Optimise Prime truck alongside the Bumblebee Car, A Tardis and also some Star Wars sets.

They was so much to do including loads more stalls compared to last year they was 4 big screens so if you didn’t want to go over to what the pannels taking place in the M&S Bank Arena you could watch them whilst heading around the stalls. 

However with Saturday being a bit busy they was some massive queues that made getting around the con a bit difficult at times however these things are bound to happen during these types of events, it was a boss few days so to the andswer our question was this the best Liverpool Comic Con yet?…HELL YES!
